About the WA Police Force Family Support Website
WA Police Force is committed to building a resilient and thriving workforce, with a focus on positive mental health and wellbeing.
We appreciate the vital role family plays in supporting our police officers, staff and auxiliary officers as they serve and protect the WA community.
We recognise family members of WA Police Force personnel need to be better informed about the services available to manage the challenges that come from policing.
That’s why, we asked family members of current and former WA Police Force personnel what information they want to know about the impact of policing, the entitlements and assistance available for WA Police Force employees. These people were also involved in the collaborative design and testing of this website. Thank you to the more than 200 people who volunteered their time to be involved.
This website is structured around the information family members said they wanted. This includes:
-
How to manage the impact of policing on mental health and wellbeing
-
Destigmatising mental health and asking for help
-
The support services available to family members including children
-
The entitlements and support services available to police officers, staff and auxiliary officers
-
The entitlements and support services available to retired police officers.
This website also provides information about WA Police Force initiatives to improve the culture and support services around mental health and wellbeing of its personnel.
We want to give you a better understanding of how we can work together to support and enhance the mental health and wellbeing of our people. There are also a range of services, resources and information sources relevant to you as a family member.
We have based this website on the insights you gave us about the information and resources you value.
